A week of fun

Last week Ben had a soft ball game. Guys from his work play on a city league team, Ben played last year, but this year has decided to only play when there isn't enough players for a team. So this week was his first game, which started at 8:00pm - bed time. So we decided to take Bailey to the park before the game, stay for a little bit of the game and then leave. In this picture she is giving Ben kisses between the bars!

This is Bailey's first time to really enjoy the park. She couldn't really do much last year so she had a WONDERFUL TIME. She loves the swings and spending time with Ben. This is one of those tube that kids can crawl through. She got about half way through with Ben at the end coaxing her on, but only made it to the middle.

On Friday we met Jon, Sherri, and girls at the park for pizza. Jon and Ben enjoyed talking and after Sherri and I got tired of running after the girls I decided it was time for all of us to go back to our house and let the girls run in the yard. So we did, the parents played games -we brought out a card table and watched the girls. There were games of soccer and volleyball and we had a great time.

On Saturday night we had a BBQ with Tyler, Tiffany, and kids. After we were done eating Tyler mentioned that there was a Finals game on. So Tiffany mentioned that the guys watch the kids and we go out shopping. I bought some scrapbook paper and Tiffany bought a new shirt. It was a nice break and great purchases.

Thanks for the great weekend everyone.

My Nieces

Last week we went to a soccer game. One of our friends daughters played, Ben and I have wanted to go to a game for a while now, but haven't been able to. Well Ben had to go to Afton Wyoming for work last week and was gone for the day and I decided that was the perfect day for Bailey and I to go. As you can see from the picture Bailey was very supportive of her friend Anna.

Bailey and I also took a small road trip to Layton to have lunch with my niece Lexie. My mom left a bag in their car last week and asked me to go and get it from Lex. Well we also had to meet some guy to do some installation work on the new car and he was coming from Draper and Layton is closer than Logan so it was a productive trip. I was really glad Lexie was there I was a little nervous to meet some random guy with just me and Bailey. Lex and I had lunch at Red Robin and we just talked and laughed. I loved seeing and spending time with her. Well the installation guy left two doors open and my radio on the whole time he was working on the car. So by the time Lexie and I were getting ready to leave my battery was completely dead! :)Now usually I would just call Ben, but being in Layton that didn't work to well. Once again THANK HEAVENS for Lexie. She said she knew how to jump start a car, but didn't have any jumper cables. Well a long time ago, my wonderful father gave me a road side emergency bag that had jumper cables. So with Lexie's know how, my cables, and two calls to Ben- we jumped my car! Thanks for the adventure Lexie-I love you and we should get together more often.

My other niece Lyndsie graduated from her Radiology Tech program. In the picture she is the one in the flowered dress on the end. So we headed home to be there for that. We all went out to eat before her graduation, the food was great and we loved seeing everyone. Lou has had a busy, rough year so far, but she worked really hard no matter what. She was actually the youngest in her program and we are so proud of her and love her a lot. Congratulations Lyndsie!

While we were there we (Ben, Bailey, and I) took a ride with my dad. We went to check on some cattle in a Rhino borrowed from Sommers dad. Dad actually had to change the battery on one of the fences. We checked for new calves, went to see the basketball court my brother Todd made, and went to see Jake (my nephew) and Kristie's house that is having a make over.
We had a great time seeing family and friends this last week. It was a great week to be able to see two out of the three of my nieces (on my side). Thanks to my family for helping with Bailey during the graduation.

Little Drummer Girl

This video was taken last time Jacob and Breawna were here visiting. One of Breawna's favorite things to do when she is here is to play Rock Band and so Bailey has been taking drumming lesson from her. Bailey also had the hiccups (not something new) while she was showing off her mad drumming skills. You can also hear/see Ben and Jacob playing tennis in the background.Sorry the video is a little blurry. The drums weren't hooked up, but it totally amazes me how much she picks up just from watching us. Oh and sorry about the hair it always gets ruined after a nap.

And We're Back!

Well after I got over someone flagging my blog Ben and I talked over whether we should go private or not. And we decided not to go private unless something else happens. Thank you to everyone who got in touch with us about going private. We heard from people we knew were following our blog and some that we didn't but were happy that they were. I heard from a cousin who I was really close to when we were little girls and friends from Ben and I's high school -crazy enough the cousin and this specific friend have the same initials K.H.- I have gotten in touch with more friends from my past from having a blog than any other way so crazies or not here we are.

I hope to all the mothers that I know that everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day. There is a poem that I have about adopted children that says"...there were two women who never knew each other, one you do not remember the other you call mother, two different lives shaped to make yours one." That is so true. The women who I call mother and IS my mother is an amazing women who has done and still does so much for me. And to my mother-in-law, she raised an amazing son, is a wonderful grandmother and mother-in-law. Ben and Bailey made my Mothers Day AMAZING - and I still think it's crazy that I am a mother!

Well we've had a fun few weeks. Thanks Jacob and Breawna for coming down to see us, for all you help, advice, being Bailey's nannies, and playing with us. Jacob is our mechanic, he's amazing with cars and went all over SLC helping in the crazy car buying process.
