Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas with our family. We spent Christmas Eve with Ben's family which is always a party. Ann (Ben's Mom) made a wonderful dinner and after we had eaten moved onto the presents. The weather and roads were horrible and on the way to Ann's we had to turn around and go borrow my Dad's pickup so we could get there and back safely and we left some presents in our car. But we had a great time, most of the night Bailey played with Jacob (Ben's brother) she would curl up like a little ball next to him and play peek a boo it was soo cute. On Christmas day we opened presents in the morning with my parents and then headed to Todd's for our traditional Christmas breakfast. It was a wonderful Christmas I just wish the weather would have been better. Ann and all that was in her house was snowed in their house for 24 hrs and she lost power for an hour. It was wonderful to be with family at this time of year.

First Birthday

The week before Christmas we celebrated Bailey's first birthday. We are so grateful to have her and can't imagine how we ever lived without her. She keeps us so busy all the time. She loves to dance and every she can she will start to clean! She will clean with a piece of paper, cloth, pull towels out of the drawers and go to work. She cleans the floor, the walls, doors, etc. Anyway my parents, brother Todd, his wife Brenda, and my niece Lyndsie drove down from Burley to celebrate with us. Mom and Dad went shopping while Todd took the rest of us out to lunch- Thanks Todd. Than we all met back at the house. Lyndsie offered to decorate the cake for us and it was soo cute and everything was polka dots. Todd was finally able to feed Bailey Ice cream, cake, the cheese from his pizza -we said no on the pop. She was very timid about her cake when we set it in front of her -less mess for me to clean up! :) Here are pictures of her big day. THANK YOU so much to all of our family and friends who have been apart of Bailey's life this past year.

Weekend in Salt Lake

The same week that we got Bailey's pictures taken Ben's cousin got married. So it was off to Salt Lake for the wedding, dinner, and having fun with the Brown family. We got to Sandy Friday afternoon and stopped by to say hi and change our clothes at my sisters. Thanks Wendy and Lexie for spending time with us, it was great to see you. After that we headed to "The Woods" for the wedding and reception. After the celebration Ben, Bailey, and I headed to Babies R' Us to buy Bailey a new big girl car seat. After that we headed into Salt Lake where we had a hotel with the rest of the Brown's. I went with the rest of the Brown girls to Temple Square to see the lights (which I love) we had a great time. The next morning we woke up to a lot of snow. Most of the Brown's who lived in Idaho took off early to make it home. Ben, Bailey, Jacob, Breawna and I headed to have breakfast. These are some pictures from that weekend of fun. We loved spending time with everyone.

First Year Pictures

Ok, I know that I haven't blogged for a while-blame it on the crazy Holiday Season. So two weeks ago we got Bailey's first year pictures taken!! Can you believe that it has been a year, I can't. Anyway we got them taken at JC Penny. I have been other places for her pictures and I LOVED JC Penny not to mention I had a killer coupon. We got one of her birthday presents early and thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law Yvonne who gave us the cutest outfit that I used for her pictures. Here are two of my favorite pictures.

Happy Birthday

Today is my brother Eric's Birthday. I have three wonderful brothers and I don't have a clear picture of Eric (I'm not the greatest picture taker) so I have a pretty good picture of all three of my brothers. Eric is a great friend, brother, and always good for a laugh. We hope that you have a great birthday and we love you.

Thanksgiving 08

Ok well here is a little of our Thanksgiving. We were able to spend time with Ben's family and mine, which is nice for everyone. We had great meals, and ate way to much the roles and pies were great. We stayed with my brother Todd for most of the time. Ben left early because he had to fly to Denver for work and I stayed with my parents. We had a great time and loved seeing everyone. The pictures (not in this order, but what I remember) Ben holding Bailey and niece Taylee, Bailey and cousin Jaycee (She was so cute with Bailey), The Brown Turkey Bowl (about 10 minutes after dinner the boys went out to play!!) Bailey with the rest of the Brown Babies that were born all within a year of each other, The Gerratt Babies all with their "Huggies", Uncle Todd feeding Bailey any thing I would let him, Bailey playing in the fridge, Uncle Todd playing with nieces and nephews, Uncle Scott treating us all to a piano Christmas solo, All 3 of my nieces and Bailey (way cute picture), Nephew Nic looking cute with his different head attire and dinner and ice cream at Al's Pizza. We had a great time seeing and being with family.

Play date

My friend Sherri and I are trying to get together - mostly for my sanity - once a week for her youngest and Bailey to play. Bailey needs to spend time with other people and we love Sherri and family so it works out. But I seem to forget my camera every time we get together. This last week Bailey fell asleep on the way to Sherri's and Cara went down soon after we got there and didn't wake up until after we had left. So the girls didn't see each other, but I had a wonderful time talking to Sherri for over an hour peacefully! Here is a picture of them playing on Saturday with the magnets on the fridge.

Saturday Parties

On Saturday Ben did his usual morning basketball playing, than some friends and I went to the movie, than of course we had a football party. The Holy War was this weekend, BYU vs. the Utes. Jon, Sherri, and girls (3) came over, Mitch, Kara, and their daughter where there too. So we had a lot of little girls, a lot of Food, and a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for consoling Ben!

Bailey's Cupboard

My mom has been telling me that Bailey needs a cupboard. Why? Well it's so she can completely empty it! My nephew Nic has his own cupboard, my mom lets the grandkids have a cupboard at her house and so not wanting to deprive Bailey of such a life mile stone she now has her own cupboard:) So we just thought we would share the happy news with the rest of the world! PLEASE do not look at my not so organized cupboard!!

And She looks like...

A little while ago Ben and I were going through my baby pictures and I came across this picture. This is a picture of me, my dad, and my brother Scott. I have no clue how old I was, but the cheesy grin looked familiar to me. The other picture is one of Bailey taken in October, I used to tease her about the cheesy grin until I saw it on my own face!

Cute Jammies

Last year my sister-in-law gave Bailey these way cute Jammies. Well as you can see they would only work for this time of year and she fits them perfect. I had to take a picture of all the cute things on these jammies so that is why there are a lot of pictures. Thanks Aunt Sommers for the cute Jammies we love them!

Rock Stars

Monday night some friends called and wanted to get together to play some games. They supplied the dessert and we supplied the games. We played a little Rock Band, ok a lot of Rock Band and had a really good time. From the pictures you may or may not be able to tell, but Tyler is an amazing singer and dancer and Tiffany was a natural at the guitar! We rotated from singing, guitar, drums and chasing the kids and Obi, but had a lot of fun.

Getting Older

Bailey will be 11 months soon! I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how fast she is growing up. She is waving hello and good bye when she wants. She is playing Patty Cake. When we start the song she will clap. When she gets a hold of her brush she will brush her hair. She will get a hold of the phone and hold it up to her ear. She is all about the cheesy giggles and smiles. She tries to match the tone of my voice when I am talking to her. She is an excellent singer and dancer. Ben and I have noticed she is a little shy though. When it is just the three of us at home she will talk constantly and be into everything. But when other people are here or we are at there house it either takes her a little time to warm up or she just want say a word and sit on our laps. She is getting a little better - that's part of the reason I have started doing play dates with my friend Sherri to get her more comfortable with other people -people that we know well :) Because I am a paranoid mom! In the first picture she holding the phone up to her ear, it's just not easy to see. We love our little munchkin and can't imagine our lives without her.

Weeks events

Well another week has passed. On Tuesday my friend Sherri and I got together for a little play date. Her youngest Kara is one and they came over to play and Sherri and I had soup from Old Grist Mill and talked. We had a really good time and of course I forgot to take any pictures. Also this week some friends of ours have season tickets to the USU Basket Ball games. Tyler (the one who has the tickets) wasn't able to go to the game this week and so he gave his two tickets to us. It was Bailey's first game and it was WAY cold walking from the car to the game. Anyway here are a few pictures of us at the game. The little purple things in Bailey's ears are ear plugs. I KNOW I am a paranoid mom, but I was so glad I had them and she was such a good girl and left them alone. Thanks for the tickets Tyler and Tiffany!

New Clothes

Either before Bailey was born or right after my sister-in-law gave me some clothes of my niece Lily's. Well Bailey is finally big enough to fit into them and I love them. I thought these little overalls were so cute that I had to take some pictures of her in them. Thanks Yvonne and Lily for the clothes. We love you and hope to see you soon.

What a Week

Last week was kind of crazy. We went to Burley for Halloween and came back home on Sunday, but we came home without Bailey. We left her with my brother, he called and asked if he (and his wife) keep her for a few days. We left her on Sunday afternoon and Todd brought her back on Tuesday, so I was basically away from her for one day. While she was gone I totally attacked the house; I did a lot of cleaning and laundry, but I missed her like crazy. On Friday we had dinner with some friends at Firehouse - Thanks MitChell for using your coupons and gift card!:) Than after dinner we went to some other friends to play games. When we got to Jon and Sherri's Ben set Bailey down and she just stood there. That was a first, she is starting to stand on her own, but this was her longest time to just stand there. Thanks Todd and Brenda for taking Bailey and for dinner also thanks to everyone who made our Friday so enjoyable I hope we can do it again soon.

Halloween!

I know I do a lot of slides and I am sorry. Basically my blog is all about Bailey, so what can I do? For Halloween I decided that we needed to go home. It was Bailey's first one and she really didn't care but all of her Grandma's were happy they were able to see her. Thanks for all the treats-they were mostly toys-any treats she got were eaten by Ben and myself. Thanks Aunt Wendy for the sending the Halloween package! The pictures are of Bailey opening the Halloween package, getting her nose painted (which she didn't like), pictures of her with Grandma Brown and Aunt Suzie-AKA-Bethany and being fed by Cousin Lyndsie who was being very difficult and wouldn't let me take a picture of her. Thanks to everyone for a great 1st Halloween.

Halloween Cookies

On Tuesday (Oct. 28) Bailey and I invited our neighbors over to decorate Halloween cookies. Nicole came over with Ellie and Megan. Megan and Bailey hung out in the Highchair and Bumbo and Ellie helped us cut out and decorate cookies. Bailey is 3 months older than Megan and they are so cute together. Megan giggles at everything Bailey does and is the cutest baby. At church when Bailey sees Megan she will do anything to get to her. I hope that they will be good friends when they get older too.

Happy Anniversary

Today is my parents 48th Anniversary. They have been a wonderful example to me for a great marriage. No matter what was going on I never doubted that my parents loved each other and their five kids. I hope that you both have a wonderful day & know that we love you.

Also 28 years ago today I was sealed to my parents and family in the Salt Lake Temple. My parents had this same picture hanging in their house the whole time I was growing up. So this day is special to me for a couple of reasons.

Two years ago my parents took all of their children, their spouses, and all the grandkids on a trip to Mexico. While we were there we took family pictures, so here is the last family picture we took. And we have also had four new additions to the family since then. Two new grandchildren and two of my nephews got married. Thanks for all the love and memories.

Brown Visitors

On Friday Night Ben's little brother Jacob and his wife Breawna stopped by for the night. Jacob was scheduled to go in for laser eye surgery on Saturday morning in Salt Lake. They got here about 8:30pm, I had just put Bailey down for the night, but they had asked to wait to eat dinner so we sent the boys out to pick some up. We were all starving and ate fast. Afterward Breawna's Brother Eric came over to play a little Rock Band with us. We watched movies and went to bed around 1:30am! They left early that morning for the surgery - that was a success. When we got home from church today they were waiting for us in the drive way! Ben made us a wonderful dinner and right when we were going to sit down Breawna's brother Eric came over to eat with us too. After dinner we played a little more Rock Band, some Tennis and Golf on the Wii and then they all had to go. We really enjoy spending time with everyone and are excited to see them again when they come down in a few weeks for Jacob to go to his check up.

Supporting Daddy

As you all know, Ben plays flag football. Bailey and I are not able to go to all of his games, only the ones that start at 7:00pm. This last weeks game was at 7:00pm and it was a close game, but Jones Simkins was able to pull off a win at the end. Of course Ben came home with Bloody knees, anyway here is Bailey all bundled up, but excited to be there watching Ben.

Pumpkin Walk

Every year North Logan City does a Pumpkin Walk. I have wanted to go for a couple of years now, but without Bailey it seemed a little silly. Anyway now that we have Bailey we went. We decided to go on Friday as soon as Ben got off of work. There were still a lot of people there and we were worried about how far away we would have to park, but after turning into the parking lot a car pulled out of the very front first parking space! We were excited and I'm sorry that it is another slide, but we took a lot of cute pictures. At the Pumpkin Walk there were Wooden Scenes with circles cut out for people to put their faces into and of course my favorite were the Star Wars Scenes. The others are scenes that people made for the Pumpkin Walk. I couldn't believe how crafty people were with pumpkins!
