A Fun Week

This week we got some new snow in Logan. So I decided it was time to dress Bailey up and introduce her to snow. Thanks to my sister-in-law Yvonne we have some wonderful hand-me down snow pants and boots. Bailey wasn't sure how she felt about snow in the at first and wouldn't walk in it, but she got used to it and eventually started playing with Obi in the snow.

We have also been dog sitting these past two weeks. About three days after my Dad's heart procedure he and my Mom took off for Hawaii for a couple of weeks and we got to watch their dog. He does really well (he's 11 years old) and they stopped by to pick him up on Thursday. They had an awesome trip, came back well rested and it was great to spend a little time with them.

On Friday my brother Scott, his wife and their son were on their way to spend the long weekend with my sister and met Bailey and I for lunch. Sommers had never eaten at Maddox so we decided to eat their. We will have to try again because Sommers was sick with the flu and couldn't eat anything! I felt so sorry for her. It was nice to see them and for Bailey to spend time with Shaydon. They are only four months apart and I wish we lived closer so they could see more of each other. Sommers had also scrap booked some pages for me. They are from Bailey's Idaho baby shower and they are awesome. Because of the previous miscarriages Ben and I were trying not to get to excited about Bailey in case we lost her and so we only have one picture of me pregnant with her and with Sommers' pages I now have more! I was so excited to have more and the pages are perfect! Thank you so much Sommers!

When my Dad was taking care of the hole in his heart he had some time to spend while he was in the hospital. So he took a stroll through the gift shop and found this puppy for Bailey. The puppy looks a lot like Obi and Bailey loves him. When we get her ready for bed she has to have him, when we change to jammies, change her diaper, top her off with a bottle, rock her, and lay her down, her puppy has to be there. It's pretty cute, so thanks Dad for the new puppy!

Niece Update

Thank you to those who have contacted me (in someway or another)about my families medical issues. I appreciate your support and thoughtfulness.

As for an update a week ago on Monday my niece received the results from her biopsy after her surgery. The results were that the growth was malignant. For her being so young it was hard to take. Thyroid cancer (caught early) is very treatable, but she was back in for surgery on Wednesday to have her thyroid removed. She did well during surgery and was scheduled to leave the hospital on Thursday morning, but because her calcium levels were so low she wasn't released until that afternoon. The doctors did another biopsy on her lymph nodes and her parathyroid (I have no clue what that is). The results for those came back clean! The cancer has not spread and we are all very excited. She will have a doctors appointment at the end of this week to have her stitches removed and get more information and details on her radiation treatment. We are just glad that after two surgeries, three biopsies and a lot of doctor visits that she is going to be ok.

Head Accesories

My sister got Bailey a shape sorter toy for her birthday and what do you know the top fits her head perfect. She also has two little piggy tails sticking out of two of the holes.

Friends Forever

Last week I babysat one of our neighbors daughters. Megan is about 3 months younger than Bailey and they are so cute. They like to hang out at church and share toys and always smile when they see each other. Anyway they are so cute together and here are a few pictures of them together.

Trials, Blessings, and Miracles

For those of you who know my family, know that we are pretty close to one another and we LOVE being together so it was kind of a hard week for my family.

On Wednesday one of my nieces had surgery to remove a growth that was in her throat. For her age and the way it was growing the doctors decided it had to come out ASAP. The doctors also braced us for the worse saying that Yes there was a chance it was cancerous. Her surgery went well, she had to spend the night in the hospital and although the biopsy will come back on Monday the doctor said he thought that the growth was NOT cancerous. My niece hasn't told a lot of people because it's not like it's good news. But we all love her and hope she feels better soon and I'll buy you a DQ Cherry Dilly Bar next time I see you! :)

Also this week my Dad had an appointment on Wednesday in SLC which confirmed that he had a LARGE hole in his heart. Thursday they did a procedure to close his whole and of course any thing done to the heart makes one a little nervous. Bailey and I took off on Wednesday to be there with him and my Mom. He did really well and the doctor said that is was a miracle that he was alive. Because of the size of the hole and my Dad's age he should have either died a long time ago or should be a vegetable because of all the strokes he should have had. We all headed home on Friday and Dad is doing great and of course he hasn't told hardly anyone about this because that's just the way he is. I am grateful that my family's ok. This is a picture of my oldest nephew Brandon (he's a cute one). He drove Bailey and I down to the hospital. This is when we were one a little Golf Cart being driven to the Heart & Lung part of the hospital. He was so cute with Bailey, she loved him.

In the hospital it was only supposed to be my Mom and one other person. My sister Wendy was with my Mom during the surgery and after he was out Bailey and I went with my nephew Brnadon, my other nephew Jason showed up and my brother-in-law came too. It was a party and Bailey was such a good girl to spend 4 hours in the hospital with zero meltdowns.
