Californai & Happy Days

Every year Ben has an exciting week of training for work somewhere out of town. I have gone with him every year but once. We really enjoy getting away, but it is SO VERY HARD to leave Bailey, this year I almost died because I wasn't just leaving Bailey I was leaving Hinkley for the 1st time!

This year his training was in San Ramon, California, about 45 minutes away from San Fransisco. Well our regular babysitter were all MIA this year, my parents in Germany and my brother Todd and his wife Brenda were in Jamaica, how rude. Well Ben's sister Bethany did a study abroad thing for school during the first part of the semester and couldn't go back to school for classes because it would be the middle of the semester so we hit her up to watch the girls. We took the girls to Idaho and they stayed at Ben's mom's house. We stayed the night with them and than left for the airport at 6:00am! I'm so not a morning person, not even for California.

It was really hard but I only cried for about 30 minutes, than I tried to stop because I didn't want Ben to think I wasn't excited to spend the free time with him!
I was planning on being in the hotel the whole time, sleeping, watching movies, sleeping, reading, sleeping, and sleeping. But another guy from Ben's work and his wife drove to California for the same training. Britt asked me if I wanted to go shopping with her and shopping in California, kid free, how do you say no? So she drove and planned out the shopping trips. So for three days I went shopping and hung out with Britt. I did little sleeping but had a ton of fun and took ZERO pictures!

We flew in at night and got home around 11:30pm the night before Bailey turned 3! We had Bethany bring the girls home that afternoon so they were here before we got here and I was so excited to see them. I had everything ready before we left so when she woke up it was all about Bailey. She had her preschool Christmas party that day and she was able to see Santa, we had her favorite dinner of pizza, cake, and ice cream. Ben took off a little early from work to be with her. Bailey calls birthdays - happy days, she loves them, hers or anyone elses.

I made her a cake but I forgot to spray the pan with pam before I put in the batter and we had major issues so it was such a disaster that it was basically to that point that I just handed out forks and let them attack the cake that way. I'm so not a cook! So sad, but Bailey didn't know any different and was happy as could be.
